Prof. Kafia M. Surchi has 29 years’ experience in Physical Chemistry in the field of environmental chemistry and has published extensively more than 70 papers in different international Scientific Journals and conferences world-wide. She had different academic posts such as: the head of Chemistry department) at the College of Education and College of Science - Salahaddin University, Biochemistry department in the College of Medicine - Hawler Medical University and the Dean of the college of Nursing, Hawler Medical University and the Head of Clinical Biochemistry College of Health Sciences. She has also acted as external examiner for MSc and PhD Viva and supervised 12 Msc and 4 PhD students. Currently she is supervising a research team from college of science, salahaddin University and college of Pharmacy, Hawler Medical University via collaboration with research team supervised by Associate Prof. Dr Ali Hassanpour, School of Chemical and Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Leeds in the field of green and sustainable procedure for producing liquid oil from locally available materials

Kafia Shareef has more than 70 publications. Her current research work is mainly related to School of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Leeds, Leeds, UK; and Utilization and Preparation of Efficient Nanocatalyst from Local Agricultural Wastes, synthesis of nanozeolite from agricultural wastes for preparation of Bioactive compounds and Kinetic study of the synthesis of Indole Derivatives.
