The Conservative Dentistry Department in the College of Dentistry is one of the most essential and active departments within the institution. It plays a vital role in both academic and clinical settings, contributing significantly to dental education, research, and patient care.
The department is staffed by a team of 21 dedicated teaching members, including four professors members, all of whom bring extensive knowledge and experience to their roles. In addition to their teaching and training responsibilities, faculty members are actively engaged in research, publishing numerous studies in various national and international journals, thereby advancing the field of dentistry.
Beyond its academic contributions, the Conservative Dentistry Department provides an important community service through its specialized Conservative Clinic. This clinic operates daily, offering treatment to approximately 50 patients who require conservative dental procedures. By providing high-quality dental care, the department not only enhances the practical training of students but also significantly contributes to public health and well-being.
In addition to its clinical and research contributions, the Conservative Dentistry Department offers a well-structured curriculum for undergraduate students across five academic years.

First Year: Students study Dental Anatomy, gaining foundational knowledge about tooth morphology and structure.

Second Year: The subject Dental Materials is introduced, focusing on the properties and applications of materials used in dentistry.

Third Year: Students engage in Preclinical Conservative Dentistry, where they develop hands-on skills in cavity preparation and restorative techniques.

Fourth Year: The subject Conservative Dentistry is taught, emphasizing restorative procedures, including direct and indirect restorations.

Fifth Year: The final stage covers Endodontology, where students learn about root canal treatment and the management of pulpal diseases.
Furthermore, the department offers postgraduate programs leading to Diploma, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees, allowing graduates to specialize and advance in the field of conservative and restorative dentistry.
As William Arthur Ward once said, "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." The Conservative Dentistry Department strives to inspire future dentists through excellence in education, research, and patient care
