The Quality Assurance Unit at the College of Medicine, Hawler Medical University was established in 2009 and it works in coordination with the Directorate of Quality Assurance at Hawler Medical University. The unit overlooks issues related to the quality assurance of the educational system.
Tasks and responsibilities of the unit:
Apply all the quality assurance standards agreed on by the Quality Assurance Committee of the Hawler Medical University to assist in improving the quality of the academic programs and that of their graduates.
Ensure the application of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD), teacher portfolio and faculty evaluation by students in a way to promote the quality assurance standards of Hawler Medical University.
Ensure that the level of quality based on national and international standards is well maintained and that the quality of learning, scientific research and community involvement is appropriate and fulfill the expectations of the range of stakeholders.
Organize and oversee the ethical approval process of the research proposals submitted by the faculty staff and other postgraduate (MSc, PhD and High Diploma) students. This also includes the issuing of the ethical approval certificate for these researchers after their proposed researches are being approved by the College of Medicine’s Ethical Committee.
