Functions of the College Council
- Formulate and approve academic and administrative policies.
- Approve study plans, curricula, and programme modifications.
- Review student admission, progression, graduation, transfer, and disciplinary matters.
- Approve examination regulations and monitor academic performance.
- Consider academic staff appointments, promotions, and professional development.
- Oversee postgraduate studies, scientific research, and innovation.
- Approve the College's strategic and operational plans.
- Review financial, laboratory, infrastructure, and resource requirements.
- Establish standing and ad hoc committees and monitor implementation of their recommendations.
- Submit recommendations and reports to the University Council on matters requiring higher approval.
Notes
- The Dean serves as the Chairperson of the College Council.
- The Assistant Dean for Scientific and Administrative Affairs serves as the Secretary of the College Council.
- The Heads of all academic departments are permanent members of the Council.
- The Student Representative is a permanent member of the College Council and participates in discussions and voting on matters related to student affairs and student welfare.
- The Quality Assurance Unit Director is not a permanent member of the College Council but may attend meetings upon invitation to present issues related to quality assurance, accreditation, or institutional performance.
