About us Medicine
The College of Medicine, Hawler Medical University is the oldest medical school in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It was originally established in 1977 as part of the University of Sulaimani and later became one of the colleges of Salahaddin University in Erbil. In 2005, the college came under the administration of Hawler Medical University, a specialized public university focusing on medical and health sciences.
The college provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in medicine and aims to prepare competent physicians through integrated teaching, clinical training, and medical research. It also contributes to the development of healthcare services in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq by promoting scientific research and professional medical practice.
