I am Dr. Lazha Binyamin Latif Askar, an orthodontic specialist and Assistant Lecturer in Orthodontics at Hawler Medical University, College of Dentistry.

My main professional interest is orthodontic biomechanics, particularly its application in clinical decision-making, orthodontic mini-implants, anchorage control, and efficient tooth movement. I am also interested in self-ligating bracket systems and digital orthodontic technologies, including clear aligners, teleorthodontics, digital patient monitoring, and AI-based treatment planning models.

Alongside my clinical and academic work, I am involved in curriculum development and competency-based dental education, with a focus on improving student learning, clinical training, and patient care outcomes. I am passionate about evidence-based orthodontics, innovation, and continuous academic development.
