Nazar P Shabila has MSc degree in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and PhD in Community Medicine from Hawler Medical University. He is a professor of community medicine at Hawler Medical University, Erbil, Iraq. He teaches different courses, including the epidemiology of communicable diseases, health economics, health information, and demography. He is currently on a one year secondment to Catholic University in Erbil. He has more than 85 publications. His current research is mainly related to health services research, women’s and reproductive health, and conflict and health. He has extensive higher education management experience, as he worked as the university vice president for scientific affairs and postgraduate studies for around 5 years. Before pursuing his academic career, he established seven years of experience in the humanitarian relief field through working with the ICRC and UNOPS-IDPs Project on addressing the needs of internally displaced people.
Nazar Shabila has more than 85 publications. His current research is mainly related to health services research, communicable diseases, women’s health and conflict and health.
