In collaboration with the Directorate of Health in Erbil through Shakholan Health Center,
College of Nursing, Hawler Medical University has implemented a health project in Shakholan village to assess the health status of the villagers in this location of Erbil city. MSc and PhD students of the Nursing College in addition to the fourth year students were the direct implementer of this project. Principles of the community health nursing (Preventive, Curative and Rehabilitative) were applied by the students throughout the duration of the project, from 16 December, 2018 to 7 April 2019. Health education and promotion was also one important aspect of this project through which students tried to focus on the main and prominent aspects of health problems in this village. Referring cases who suffer from particular diseases was also done to the appropriate health facilities.
