Hawler Medical University organized a football championship for the faculties and staff of the universities and institutes in Erbil during the month of Ramadan.
Seven teams participated in the championship. Under the patronage for the President of Hawler Medical University, Assistant Professor Dr. Dara O. Meran, the final match was played between the staff of Hawler Medical University and the faculties of the College of Physical Education of Salahaddin University on 21 June 2017. The faculties of the College of Physical Education won the championship while the staff of Hawler Medical University came in second place.
