Under the supervision of HE the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research the results of the grant competition of the Kurdistan Scientific Research Council were announced on 3 July 2018 in a special ceremony.
Out of the 7 awarded research grants, one grant was awarded to a research project from Hawler Medical University with an amount of 20 million Iraqi Dinars. The research project entitled "Perception study to compare the integrated system medical program with the traditional medical program at the College of Medicine, Hawler Medical University using the Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measure" was submitted by Assistant Professor Dr. Abubakir M. Saleh and his colleagues from the College of Medicine. The project aims to assess the perception of medical students about the new integrated system medical program in comparison with the old traditional medical program. This assessment should help in identifying the main challenge and opportunities faced by the medical education and direct us to further improving the medical education system in Kurdistan region. The project will also help in providing evidence-based high quality medical education to have competent physicians, efficient health system and a healthy community at the end.
