On 7 November 2019, a workshop about the importance of diet and foot care for diabetics’ patients was conducted at the Seminar Hall of the College of Pharmacy.
The workshop was facilitated by Mrs. Amani Layth Hameed, a faculty member at the Clinical Biochemistry Department, College of Health Sciences. Around 20 faculty staff from the different colleges of Hawler Medical University participated in the workshop. Mrs. Amani explained the basics of eating, food category, and the principles of diet and energy required for diabetics through the macronutrients needed daily to balance their bold glucose. Additionally, the workshop demonstrated the the importance and methods of diabetics’ foot care to avoid complications.
