Hawler Medical University is ranked 6th in Iraq and 4th in Kurdistan Region in the 2022 version of the Scimago Institutions Ranking.
Hawler Medical University is ranked 2nd in Iraq and 1st in Kurdistan Region in the Innovation Rank.
It is the first time for Hawler Medical University to appear in SCIMAGO Institutional Ranking list.
The ranking indicators include research (50%), innovation (30%) and societal (20%).
The inclusion criterion is that the institutions had published at least 100 works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected time period. The results are obtained over a period of five year ending two years before the edition of the ranking. For instance, for 2022, the results used are those from the five year period 2016-2020.
Professor Dr. Nooraddin Ismail, President of Hawler Medical University, emphasized the importance of this achievement. He congratulated the colleges, the researchers and teaching staff, and students of the university and thanked them for their contribution to this important achievement.
