Workshop on Vaccination and Influenza Prevention Held at the College of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy, Hawler Medical University, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Protecting the Vulnerable: Vaccination, Flu Vaccine as an Example” on 29 September 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Pharmacy Seminar Hall.

The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rojgar H. Ali, who provided an informative overview of the importance of vaccination in protecting individuals and communities, with particular emphasis on seasonal influenza vaccination and the protection of vulnerable and high-risk groups.

During the session, the presenter discussed the role of vaccines in disease prevention, the importance of annual influenza vaccination, and key considerations related to vaccine effectiveness and public awareness. The workshop also addressed common questions and misconceptions surrounding vaccination and highlighted the important role of healthcare professionals and pharmacists in promoting evidence-based vaccination practices.

The event was attended by a large number of academic staff and participants from the College of Pharmacy, reflecting the strong interest in this important public health topic.

The workshop concluded with an interactive and productive discussion between the presenter and the attendees, during which participants exchanged views, raised scientific questions, and discussed practical aspects of influenza vaccination and strategies for improving awareness and vaccine uptake.
