On Wednesday the 12th of October 2022, the Quality Assurance of the College of Pharmacy
held a workshop entitled "New Citation Tips and free download of EndNote Software." The presenter, Bashdar Mahmud Hussen, an Assistant Professor at Hawler Medical University provided vital information on the importance of research skills to facilitate publication in high-impact journals. The workshop took into consideration the emergence of the pandemic. The presenter focused on some innovative citation key points that are required in all high impact factor journals, which enables for further advancement for academics in the field of higher education.
Workshop Outcome
At the end of workshop all the participants were familiar with the following points in research reference citation skills:
- Opening a new library in the EndNote software
- Different ways to import a reference from an online database via PubMed
- Creating a custom group and adding references to it
- Finding full texts to download PDFs for references
- Inserting references into a Word document
- Formatting a bibliography and create your own referencing style
Speaker Information
Bashdar Mahmud Hussen is an Assistant Professor at Hawler Medical University. Currently he is a PhD student. He is working as a young scientist in the field of cancer, non-coding RNA (ncRNA), and therapeutic targets. In addition, he serves as a peer reviewer for a number of high-impact journals, including twelve nature journals and seven frontiers journals. He is also an Associate Editor for both Frontiers in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology (IF = 4.086) and Frontiers in Cancer Immunology (IF = 8.786).
