The National Ranking of Universities has been announced for the fourth year
Hawler Medical University ranked in the top group of the National University Ranking
On 9 January 2020, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the results of the national university ranking (NUR-KRG) for the study years 2018-2019. Hawler Medical University has been ranked in the top group of the public universities in Kurdistan region together with 5 other universities. The 7 universities in the top group were placed in random order as the minister emphasized. On this special occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Dara O. Meran thanked and congratulated the faculty staff, students and the university and colleges' management for this important achievement.
The ranking scores of Hawler Medical University remarkably increased in all criteria and dimensions of NUR-KRG, particularly in the scientific research, quality, community activities and international activities. For example, the number of research papers and the impact factor values of published research have increased by more than 300% during the last four years. Moreover, Hawler Medical University significantly improved its position and was among the top universities of Kurdistan region and Iraq in the Webometrics, RUR, and Google Scholar rankings.
