On May 10, 2026, the College of Nursing at Hawler Medical University officially launched its Chess Championship with active participation from students in a competitive and enthusiastic academic environment.
The activity was supported and inaugurated under the supervision of Dr. Vian Al-Naqshbandi, Dean of the College of Nursing, as part of the College’s commitment to encouraging extracurricular and intellectual student activities.
The championship aims to promote strategic thinking, concentration, decision-making skills, and positive student interaction beyond classroom activities. Students demonstrated remarkable engagement and sportsmanship throughout the first day of the competition.
Such activities play an important role in strengthening students’ mental skills, teamwork, and social communication while supporting a balanced academic environment within the College community.
