On Thursday 26/01/2023, The Midwifery Department of College of Nursing under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Tiran Jamil Pero, Head of Midwifery Department, in the presence of the Dean of College of Nursing Assist. Prof. Dr. Vian Afan Naqshbandi, Dr. Karwan Mohammed M. Amen, Vice President for Students Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zhian Dezayee, Vice President for Post-graduates and Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Hamdia Mirkhan Ahmad, Dean of College of Health Sciences and Director of the Center of Women's Health Research and Education (CREWH) held a symposium of Midwifery Department entitled “Midwifery and Women's Health” regarding the history of midwifery and its establishment, the role of midwives in the hospital and Maternity Units, MCH centers and comparison between Kurdistan midwifery care with Australia. It is worth mentioning that various topics and activities have been presented by many presenters of Midwifery Department. A large number of faculty staff/lecturers have attended the above-mentioned symposium.
