As part of the *World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW)* activities at the College of Health Sciences, Hawler Medical University, a workshop entitled *“Updated Standard for Performing Culture and Sensitivity and Global Antibiotic Resistance Surveillance Report 2025”* was held at the *University Conference Hall (Prof. Dr. Nooraddin Hall)* on *Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:30 AM. The workshop was delivered by **Mr. Hallo Seraj-Adin Rashid, B.Sc. in Medical Microbiology, Head of the Microbiology Department at Balsam Private Hospital and TOT-Certified Microbiology Laboratory Manager (MSF-OCB). He reviewed current best practices for culture and sensitivity testing and highlighted key findings from recent global antibiotic resistance surveillance, emphasizing the crucial role of microbiology laboratories in guiding rational antimicrobial use. The workshop reinforced the WAAW message: **“Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.”
