Today, a scientific seminar entitled *“Does Maternal Diabetes Increase the Risk of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in the Offspring?”* was presented by *Dr. Hanan Jawad Goomani* at the *University Conference Hall* arranged by  *College of Health Sciences, Hawler Medical University, at 11.30 AM on **25 November 2025*. Dr. Hanan discussed current evidence on the relationship between maternal diabetes and the risk of ASD in children, highlighting possible pathophysiological mechanisms, the importance of strict glycemic control before and during pregnancy, and the role of early screening and multidisciplinary care in improving outcomes. The seminar was well attended by  dean, vice dean and faculty members, students, and concluded with an engaging discussion on prevention, early diagnosis, and future research directions in this sensitive area of maternal and child health.
