Hawler Medical University proudly highlights the exceptional academic and extra-curricular achievements of Nvar Sardar Othman
a second-year student at the College of Pharmacy, who currently holds the title of Iraq U18 Girls' Chess Champion.
Nvar’s Story of Success
Nvar’s journey in chess began at the age of nine, inspired and guided by her father, who introduced her to the fundamentals of the game and nurtured her early strategic thinking. To further develop her technical skills, she pursued formal training at the renowned Khanzad Chess Club in Erbil, embarking on a dedicated athletic and intellectual path.
Over a decade of competitive play, Nvar has participated in numerous national and regional tournaments, honing her tactical discipline and competitive edge. Her dedication culminated in achieving the prestigious national title of Iraq U18 Girls' Chess Champion.
Reflecting on her journey as both a national champion and a pharmacy student, Nvar emphasizes the profound impact chess has on personal development and academic success:
"I hope many other students get introduced to chess because not only does it help in daily life, but it also helps improve studying plans and analytical thinking."
The Deanship of the College of Pharmacy and the Presidency of Hawler Medical University congratulate Nvar Sardar Othman on her outstanding accomplishments. The university continues to support and encourage students who demonstrate excellence in both academic studies and national sports achievements.
