Within the HOPES supported project of psychosocial support services for Syrian refugee students and students from the host community,
Hawler Medical University organized a one-day workshop on 18 September 2019 at the Fortland Hotel, Erbil.
A total of 29 Syrian refugee students from the different universities in Erbil city participated in the workshop. The aim of the workshop was provide the students with information and awareness about psychosocial aspects of their study and life in addition to introducing the Psychosocial Support Center at Hawler Medical University and its services to the students.
The workshop included topics related to positive psychology, emotional intelligence, and how to protect yourself from depression. The workshop was moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Banaz Adnan Saeed, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Hawler Medical University, with the help of two other trainers.
