Hawler Medical University obtained a research grant from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to collaborate in implementing the research project
entitled "Situation analysis to strengthen the management of diabetes and hypertension continuum of care in humanitarian crises." The project will be led by Dr. Karwan Muhammad Muhammed Amin from the College of Nursing. The grant is with an amount of 22095 GBP.
The aim of the project is to perform a rapid appraisal of the continuum of care for diabetes mellitus and hypertension for internally displaced persons, refugees and the vulnerable host population. The focus will be on prevention, identification of people at high NCD risk and the patient pathway once diagnosed, including access, quality and integration of care across health system sites and levels (including family/community level).
