College of Nursing Holds Doctoral Dissertation Defense for PhD Candidate Dlzar Sedeeq Anwer

On Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the College of Nursing at Hawler Medical University, located in Erbil, hosted the formal doctoral dissertation defense for PhD candidate Dlzar Sedeeq Anwer within the Department of Community Health Nursing.

Conducted under the joint academic supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Vian Afan Al-Naqshbandi and Professor Dr. Abubakir Majeed Saleh, the candidate submitted and defended his doctoral dissertation titled:

"Effectiveness of Concept Mapping Compare to Traditional Teaching Method among College of Nursing Students: Mixed Method Design"

 

The study investigates innovative pedagogical strategies in higher nursing education, evaluating the educational efficacy of concept mapping compared to conventional teaching methods among undergraduate nursing students. Utilizing a mixed-methods research design, the dissertation assesses both quantitative learning outcomes and qualitative student engagement to offer evidence-based recommendations for modernizing nursing curricula.

The academic examination took place in the Main Conference Hall at the College of Nursing before an expert panel of senior scholars and medical education specialists:
