On Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the College of Nursing at Hawler Medical University, located in Erbil, hosted the formal doctoral dissertation defense for PhD candidate Sideeq Sadir Ali within the Department of Adult Nursing.
Conducted under the joint academic supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Vian Afan Naqshbandi and Lecturer Dr. Nuraddin Hamad Mhammad, the candidate submitted and defended his doctoral dissertation titled:
"The Effect of Implementing Standardized Care on Related Clinical Outcomes Following Back Surgeries in Erbil City"
The study addresses a critical clinical domain in surgical nursing and post-operative recovery, evaluating how the implementation of standardized nursing care protocols impacts clinical recovery indicators, complication rates, and overall patient outcomes following spinal and back surgeries in hospital settings across Erbil City.
The academic examination took place in the Main Conference Hall at the College of Nursing before an expert panel of senior scholars, surgical specialists, and adult nursing experts:
