On 11 August 2026, the Center for Research and Education in Women's Health at Hawler Medical University held a workshop
entitled "Empowering Women through Safety Awareness and Prevention" at the Seminar Hall of the College of Pharmacy, attended by staff, lecturers, and students. The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Sahar Mohamed Zaki, Director of the Center, and Lecturer Haval A. Hamadamin, Director of Health and Safety at the university. The presenters discussed the concept of women's empowerment and its close link to safety awareness, and addressed the health, social, occupational, and digital risks that women may face in daily life. They also explained the principles of risk management and prevention, highlighted the importance of periodic health check-ups and safe reporting mechanisms, and outlined practical measures for emergency preparedness, including personal protective equipment and local emergency numbers
