According to the latest edition of Webometrics ranking which was released on 28 January 2020, Hawler Medical University is ranked 3rd
among the public universities of Iraqi Kurdistan Region. This is an important rank given the small size of the university and small number of staff and students compared to the other universities in the region. Hawler Medical University is ranked first in the presence indicator.
