Within the HOPES supported project of psychosocial support services for Syrian refugee students and students from the host community, Hawler Medical University organized a one-day workshop on 12 April 2019 at the College of Health Sciences, Hawler Medical University.
A total of 34 students from the different universities in Erbil city including both Syrian refugee students and students from the host community participated in the workshop. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the Psychosocial Support Center at Hawler Medical University and its services to the students. The center has been established recently at Hawler Medical University with the support of HOPES program. The workshop also included the topics of stress management during examinations, psychological adjustment and awareness about psychiatric disorders. The workshop was moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Banaz Adnan Saeed, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Hawler Medical University, Dr. Izaddin Ahmed, PhD degree in Positive Psychology and Mental health and Mr. Brwa Adnan, Master degree in Psychology.
