Hawler Medical University Co-Organizes the Sixth International Conference of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Jordan

The College of Dentistry at Hawler Medical University proudly served as a principal partner in the Sixth International Conference of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Jordan.

Held in Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on June 11–12, 2026, the conference was organized under the theme “Dentistry: An Open Horizon.” The two-day scientific event brought together distinguished academics, researchers, and dental professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss contemporary developments in dental education, research, and clinical practice.

The conference was jointly organized by the University of Jordan and Hawler Medical University, reflecting the growing academic collaboration between the two institutions. Hawler Medical University was represented by a high-level delegation headed by Professor Dr. Ali Abdulrazzaq Al-Dabbagh, President of Hawler Medical University, and Professor Dr. Bassam Amin, Acting Dean of the College of Dentistry. The delegation also included:

The conference commenced with opening addresses delivered by the Presidents of the University of Jordan and Hawler Medical University. In recognition of their valuable contributions to academic cooperation and international engagement, both the President of Hawler Medical University and the Acting Dean of the College of Dentistry were honored by the host institution.

Faculty members from the College of Dentistry actively participated in the scientific program as invited speakers and session chairs, making significant contributions to the success of the conference and highlighting the college’s expanding academic presence on the international stage.

This event marks a historic achievement, as it is the first time that a public university from the Kurdistan Region and Iraq has co-hosted an international scientific conference held in another country. Such participation demonstrates the increasing recognition of Hawler Medical University as a respected academic institution and a trusted partner in international scientific activities.

The collaboration further strengthens the academic and scientific standing of Hawler Medical University, particularly the College of Dentistry, and reinforces its role as an active contributor to higher education and scientific advancement in the Middle East and beyond. It also serves as a strong incentive for further achievements in research, academic excellence, and international cooperation.
