The Global Nursing Policy Leadership Institute (GNPLI) is an innovative programme of International Council of Nurses (ICN).
It is a successor of the Global Nursing Leadership Institute, which the ICN run from 2009 to 2016. Local, national, regional and international policy and politics have profound effect on health care and nursing and the ability to understand and influence policy has been identified as an area that needs to be developed among nursing leaders worldwide. The main aim of the GNPLI is to help current and future nursing leaders enhance their effectiveness in bringing about policy changes that lead to health improvement, through increasing their political and policy competence.
