Conducting a Specialized Workshop on Drugs and Their Harmful Effects for Our Faculty Members, Students, and Staff at the College of Dentistry
As part of the health awareness and safety programs of the Health and Safety Unit of our College, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Bassam Karim Amin, Dean of the College, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hemen Mohsen Sulaiman, Assistant Dean, and our faculty members, students, and staff at the College of Dentistry, Hawler Medical University, a specialized workshop was conducted on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Raed Arkan Bibani, Spokesperson of the Directorate for Combating Narcotic Drugs, with the aim of raising awareness and introducing the effects of drugs on general health, particularly oral and dental health, under the title:
“Drugs and Their Harmful Effects”
During the workshop, based on the latest global information and statistics, the prevalence of drug use, the reasons behind its use, and its health risks were discussed. Emphasis was placed on the fact that prevention, awareness, and choosing a healthy lifestyle are the best ways to protect the health of individuals and society. Prevention not only helps prevent the harmful effects of drugs, but also directly contributes to protecting oral and dental health.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Bassam Karim Amin, Dean of the College, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Raed Arkan Bibani as an expression of gratitude for conducting this workshop, enriching it with valuable and beneficial information, and contributing to increasing the awareness of our faculty members, administrators, students, and staff regarding the spread and dangers of drugs
