Women's Health Workshop Minimize

Workshop

Identification of Gaps in Research and Education in Women's Health

Introduction

The Center for Research and Education in Women's Health (CREWH) is a newly established unit in Hawler Medical University. The center aims to promote research on women’s health and on gender differences related to health by supporting a network of faculty members in multiple disciplines who are interested in research collaborations to study various aspects of women’s health and women’s right to health. The first step for achieving these aims is bring different academic staff together to identify the gaps in research and education in Iraqi Kurdistan Region through brainstorming and reflection on previous experiences. This will help to better understand the needs in term of research and education. Therefore, Hawler Medical University will conduct a one day workshop with the participation of 30 -50 academic staff from Halwer Medical University and relevant departments of the University of Salahaddin to help in highlighting the next steps.

The objectives of the workshop are as following:

1-      Gap analysis for women research and education as perceived by the academic staff.

2-      SWOT analysis of capacity, funding and frameworks for research and education in women's health

Suggested date: 13/4/2017

The faculty members who have experience in the field of women's health and education research and who are interested to participate in the workshop need to register by sending an email to crewh@hmu.edu.krd from 13 to 30 March 2017.
